Reducing the Environmental Impact of BTX Production

Thumb_Axens - WP_Aromatics BTX Production

The chemical sector is responsible for a large share of industrial CO2 emissions.
Therefore, reducing emissions from the production of benzene, toluene and xylenes BTX - which are among the 10 most produced basic organic chemicals - is crucial.

Technical developments made in the recent years in the field of aromatics have led to a significant reductions of GreenHouse Gas (GHG) emissions in all three Scopes defined by the GHG Protocol corporate standards: Scope 1 and 2, related to direct and indirect emissions linked to utilities consumption, and Scope 3, related to all other indirect emissions (e.g., raw materials consumption or products use).
