Thumb_Technical Article - Advances in Naphtha Processing_1

The gasoline pool composition and regulatory specifications have undergone considerable change in recent years, particularly in the North American market. A number of economic and regulator drivers have played a role:

  • Reformulated Gasoline specifications on oxygenates and sulfur leading to a 30 ppm S limit
  • Ban on MTBE and increased use of ethanol per the new Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS)
  • MSAT-II regulation limiting Benzene to 0.62v%
  • Tightening of evaporative emissions and RVP limits
