Axens was selected to provide an energy diagnostic of the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) by screening the possible energy efficiency optimization opportunities.
A preliminary pinch analysis revealed that the CDU already had a high energy recovery rate, and that only a marginal profit could be expected within the CDU unit.
