Global revamping scenarios of FCC units generally aim to either increase the unit’s throughput, possibly involving processing lower-cost heavier feedstocks (or a larger quantity of heavy feedstock such as resid), or to improve conversion towards more propylene. Revamping often also targets improved unit reliability. Each FCC revamp study is unique, not only because of the specific economics of the refinery (crude selection, processing capabilities, local market values, etc.)
