OliCrack™

Propylene from higher olefins

thumb_CB_Oilcrack

The Petrochemical industry requires ever more propylene to supply the expanding chemicals and polymers markets. Propylene is traditionally obtained as a byproduct from steam cracking of naphtha or liquid feedstock in ethylene plants. As the growth of propylene outpaces ethylene while steam crackers shift to more plentiful lighter feedstocks co-producing little propylene,
alternative sources, particularly from refineries, take on an increasing importance.
