Sour natural gases can be contaminated with mercaptans, which tend to concentrate in NGL, LPG or condensate streams due to similar boiling points. Removal of these components is necessary for liquefaction of the sweet gas, but is also increasingly required to meet sweet gas pipeline transportation specifications.
